Service Objectives
Provide one-to-one individual and group
professional training for children with learning difficulties and impaired
development. The programmes emphasize on training children and encouraging
parents to display children’s learning potential.
Scope
of Service
Through cooperation,
assist parents to accept and take care of their children who have difficulties
in learning and development.
With the accompany
of parents, the children take part in individual or group education and
training, which not only provide training for parents but also stimulate the
development of children.
The centre provides
occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech therapy. Toys and teaching
materials are also available for parents to borrow so they can train their
children at home.
Service Characteristics
Professional Team
A team of professional staff including
clinical psychologist, speech therapist, occupational therapist,
physiotherapist, special child care worker and social worker works together and provides strategic
training for the holistic development of children.
Integrated Group Training
In line with the integrated child-based
approach, our centre provides various group training for the children at
different developmental stages, for example, Infant Course and Primary-One
Bridging Course. These training would help them develop the skills
holistically.
Physical Fitness Training
Having a healthy body and daily routine is
essential to promote the all-rounded development of the children. Therefore,
our centre would customize individual fitness plans for the children, in the
hope of improving their learning abilities.
Social and Emotional Support
Our centre values the social, behavioural,
and emotional development of the children. We regularly offer social-emotional
training, art therapy, play therapy and other therapeutic treatment, in order
to provide children with appropriate care and support.
Eligibility
Disabled children from newborn up to the age
of 6 years
Opening hours
Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
(Service hours could be extended to 8:00pm
from Monday to Friday if necessary.)
Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. / 12:00 p.m.-
3:00 p.m.
(Each year, 12 Sunday sessions would be
opened for public consultation.)
Fee
$148 per year
Application Procedures and Discharge of
Service
Referrals can be made by social workers or
staff of rehabilitation service units to the Central Referral System for
Rehabilitation Services of the Social Welfare Department. For discharge from
our service, please contact our staff in person, the centre will convene a
conference, discussing the referral and follow up of the service user, to
provide the most suitable arrangement.
