Kindergarten Services

Introduction

The School is a non-profit-making kindergarten-cum-nursery under Po Leung Kuk and has joined the Pre-primary Education Voucher Scheme. The kindergarten-cum-nursey was set up in 2005 with a generous donation from Wai Yin Association, and named as Wai Yin Kindergarten-cum-nursery. It aims at providing diversified daytime child care and education services for children and their families in Eastern District of Hong Kong Island.

Teaching Characteristics

  • Provide daily physical, creative music and art activities to stimulate children's whole person development.
  • Emphasize on language development by actively promoting Chinese and English reading programmes.
  • Provide adequate resources to encourage the children to explore actively and study independently in order to cultivate the nine generic skills in learning.
  • Adopt the thematic approach to deepen various study contents and to consolidate what the children have learned through activity corners and different levels of textbooks.
  • Utilize the progressive assessment method to continuously assess the children’s learning and their physical and mental development. Flexibly adjust the teaching strategies in accordance with the children’s learning needs.
  • Create portfolio for each child, systematically record children’s daily performance and school works, report to parents regularly.

School Environment

Eligibility

Children from the age of 2 years to the age of 6 years

Service Hours

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Saturday 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

Fees

12 installments per year and adjust yearly after obtaining approval by Education Bureau.Parents can apply to the Student Financial Assistance Agency for fee subsidy.

Children attending Nursery (K1), Lower (K2) and Upper (K3) classes can obtain financial assistance through the Pre-primary Education Voucher Scheme.

Meal Arrangement

We have kitchen to provide children with various types of well balanced breakfast, lunch, fruit, and afternoon tea. No preserved food is served so that the children can keep healthy.

Application Procedures

Children above the age of 12 months can apply.

Parents can apply in person, or download the Application Form . The completed application form must be sent to us by fax or post.

Children are required to take a physical examination before attending the school.
